TEN THINGS I'VE LEARNED AT TWENTY-THREE.

When I turned 21 I thought to myself, "This is the last birthday that I'll ever look forward to." And I always see these articles about turning the dreaded thirty, whether it's things to do before then or things that you should learn before the Big 3-0. I have a while until I turn thirty but that doesn't mean that I haven't learned new things at 23 or have a list of things I want to do before I turn 24. Every age is significant in our lives and we should recognize it for what it is, even if it does mean getting a little older.

TEN THINGS I'VE LEARNED AT TWENTY-THREE.
/// You can wear black and brown together, despite being taught all of these years not to.
/// It's okay to have a lunch beer, no, you're not an alcoholic.
/// The silence button on your phone is a godsend. Don't answer if you don't want to.
/// A calendar is easier to keep track of on your iPhone, no matter how much more fun it is to write down on a pretty pad.
/// It's better to be over-dressed than under-dressed.
/// Don't leave the house without mascara and lipstick.
/// Never e-mail before a cup of coffee or after two glasses of wine.
/// Don't wash your hair everyday.
/// Always have fresh flowers in your home.
/// When all else fails, eat your weight in fish tacos.
